Privacy policy

This site is static. There is no account system, no login, and no form that asks you for personal information.

We do not collect your location

Deliberately, and it is enforced in the HTTP headers rather than left as a promise: the site's Permissions-Policy disables geolocation outright, so the page cannot ask for it even if a script tried.

A consumer-protection site that asks for your location looks exactly like the thing it is warning you about. Location is also the single most sensitive thing about a person who is currently standing outside their own house at night.

Cookies

Essential storage only, today. Your theme choice and your cookie preferences are kept in your browser's local storage and never leave your device. Nothing you tick on the verification checklist is stored anywhere at all — not on our servers and not in your browser — because that would be a record of a bad night.

If analytics or advertising are added later, they will be off until you opt in, and the consent control is in the footer.

Global Privacy Control

Honoured automatically. If your browser sends a GPC signal, optional cookies are declined for you and you are not asked.

Your rights

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of; a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" control will be added if that ever changes.

Under the GDPR, if you are in the EEA or the UK, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. Write to us and we will action it.
